I drove to a stationary shop and bought a writing pad. Then I drove to the graveyard in Hartley Wintney via Odiham oriented lanes, I walked around its perimeter. A wire mesh frame had been installed around one particular grave. A sign said it was to prevent vandals tearing the heads from the flowers - a frequent occurrence apparently. It made me feel sad. I immediately thought about cremation and walked on, returning to my car.
On my way home I saw my ghost riding a bicycle down the hill which I was driving up. At home I felt irritated by the graveyard. An amount of mud had collected on my boots which I had to rinse off in the sink. The irritation turned to a heightened sense of calm after I'd cleaned the mud off, as now my boots were cleaner than when I'd left the house.
