Hidden Monsters

He cried out abruptly, shouting 'beware, the horror, the horror of man and his many modes of horror!', 'I'm not kidding kids! I'm as serious as it gets' and he wasn't joking, but the audience were mesmerised by the performance and failed to heed the warning. They dismissed his wisdom, they'd seen so many performances that they'd become unable to tell the facts from the fiction. This was what the monsters wanted, confusion, so they could hide between the frames of film and nobody would notice their presence, at least until it was too late.

Has reality, and its many subservient drones, got so strong a hold on your mind that you can't see the monsters either? Do you think I'm only messing around?
